Low Cost Microchips and Rabies Vaccinations

Each year thousands of lost and abandoned animals are taken in by shelters and humane societies across North America. Some of these animals never make it home because they can't be identified.

Microchipping offers pet owners the only permanent method of identifying your pet and linking the animal back to you via our Lost Pet Recovery Service. Collar tags can break or become unreadable, and tattooing can become illegible. If you want to improve your pet's chances of returning home safely, microchipping is your best option.

4 Reasons to Microchip Your Pet

  • Only permanent method of pet identification
  • Best chance of your pet returning to you after going missing
  • Quick and painless procedure, similar to vaccination
  • Lasts for the lifetime of your pet

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I get my pet microchipped?

Here at Happy Tales, we offer 24PetWatch microchips for $25 during our business hours;  Tuesday thru Friday from 10:00 am thru 4:00 pm.  On the 10th of every month we now offer $10.00 Microchips and $10.00 Rabies Vaccinations!

My dog always wears a collar and tags. Why should I get a microchip for him?

Collars and tags can be removed or may get lost.  Tattoos may become difficult to read over time.  Microchips are the only permanent method of identifying your pet, and they last for the lifetime of the pet.

Should I microchip my cat?

Cats are naturally curious and unpredictable. In the event that your cat strays away from the safety of your home, a microchip is your cat's best chance for a quick return.

Does microchipping hurt the animal?

Animal microchips are about the size of a grain of rice.  They are typically implanted by a vet just beneath the surface of the skin, between the shoulder blades.  The microchip is inserted via a needle and a special syringe. The process is similar to receiving a vaccination, and it is painless for most pets.
